A fourth victim has come forward to police to report a sexual attack in downtown Toronto.

The incident happened in the area of Wellesley and Sherbourne streets back in April but detectives believe it is linked to at least three sexual assaults that happened in the general area in August.

Det. Const. Sandra Arruda told reporters at a news conference Tuesday that she believes there are more victims out there who have yet to come forward.

Last week, police identified a suspect they allege is responsible for the attacks.

On Tuesday, Arruda said police have surveillance videos and witness testimony that all point to the same person.

Arruda said April’s attack had similarities to the other attacks in August.

The suspect befriends his victims, all of whom live on the streets near Parliament and Gerrard streets. After gaining their trust, he leads them back to a secluded area where the sexual assaults take place.

The attacks have taken place at Yonge and Wellesley streets, Dundas and Parliament streets and the Yonge and Gloucester streets area.

The suspect has attacked women ranging in age between 18 and 40 years old, and has approached his victims at all times of the day.

Though Arruda described the assaults as “serious” in nature, none of the women required hospitalization as a result.

“I fear that he is unpredictable and therefore I would say yes,” she told a reporter who asked if she feared the suspect would escalate his behaviour.

“He’s definitely a public safety risk and needs to be apprehended immediately,” she said.

The suspect, who was identified last week as 34-year-old Thomas Reardon, is also known to introduce himself as Thomas Thornhill.

The suspect is known to frequent the area of Wellesley and Sherbourne though he has no fixed address.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts is being asked to call police immediately. The public is asked not to approach the man if they spot him, but to call 911 instead.
