Toronto police have identified two people who were fatally shot in a series of brazen shootings in and around Muzik nightclub early Tuesday morning.

Duvel Hibbert, 23, of Brampton and 26-year-old Ariela Navarro-Fenoy of Toronto both died after shots rang out at the site at around 3:20 a.m.

Police have previously said that gunfire erupted at two separate locations just blocks away from each other.

According to police, Hibbert was shot inside Muzik nightclub, as the official OVO Fest after-party was wrapping up, and Navarro-Fenoy was found with gunshot wounds just down the road, north of the Dufferin Gates.

Friends of Navarro-Fenoy told CTV News Wednesday that the young woman worked at the Yorkdale Shopping Centre locations of both Foot Locker and Sephora.

A crowdfunding page set up to raise money for Navarro-Fenoy’s funeral expenses had raised $12,775 as of 1 p.m., surpassing a $12,000 goal.

“Ariela was a beautiful person in and out. I had the pleasure of meeting her, and every time she was always smiling with that beautiful smile she had,” one person wrote on the page. “I know she's smiling right now with that same beautiful smile.”

Speaking to CTV News, Nareen Ismaili, a friend of Navarro-Fenoy, described the 26-year-old as a "beautiful" and "talented" girl.

"She always knew how to make people happy," Ismaili said. "It hurts what happened to her. She didn’t deserve that.”

A separate crowdfunding page has also been set up on GoFundMe to raise money for Hibbert’s funeral.

Speaking to CP24 Wednesday night, Hibbert's mother Auline Lewis said that despite reports of her son's criminal past, he loved his family dearly.

"The point about it is, whether or not he had any problems in the past, he never deserved to die this way," she said tearfully.

"I don’t know whether or not he was targeted. All I know is that my son is gone and I’m not going to see him again. That’s the bottom line. It’s someone’s son and he is gone. He’s a brother, he’s an uncle and he’s gone."

She described Hibbert as the person who always tried to keep their family together.

"He has a good heart and he respected me and always made sure I was doing OK," she said.

The grieving mother condemned the senseless violence that took place on Tuesday morning.

"Violence is never the way to solve a problem," she added.

"I need justice for my son. I need to see the person who killed him in cold blood to come to justice."

In addition to the two victims who were fatally wounded, three other people were injured in the shootings. Their injuries ranged from minor to serious, police previously said.

Two persons of interest have been identified so far and police are asking the public for help determining who they are.

The first person of interest was seen fleeing Muzik and is described as a black male, who is six-foot to six-foot-one, 25 to 26 years old and had a fresh buzz cut. The man was seen wearing a light-coloured purple crew neck sweater with a colourful design on the front.

The second person of interest was spotted at the shooting scene near the Dufferin Gates and is described as a brown male, with a skinny build who is between the ages of 24 and 28 and stands about five-foot-ten to five-foot-eleven. He was seen wearing a yellow and burgundy plaid button-up shirt.
