Residents of a Scarborough apartment building will finally have power via an emergency generator this morning after the electricity was knocked out during a two-alarm fire yesterday afternoon.

The fire broke out in the electrical room of the 15-storey building on Pharmacy Avenue near Finch Avenue at around 12:30 p.m. and quickly spread to the main floor. Crews then knocked down the fire a short time later.

One person suffered minor burns to their hands and face during the blaze.

The damage is estimated to be about $10,000, according to Toronto Fire.
