If you will be heading to Union Station later today to catch a GO Train home you may want to double check your platform number.

As part of the ongoing renovations to the downtown transit hub, GO Transit has reopened platforms 4 and 5 and closed platforms 20 and 21.

According to Metrolinx spokeswoman Anne Marie Aikins, the change will affect “virtually every train.”

“Transit commuters do the same thing every day and sort of want to forget their commute, so there will be a lot of learning underway for every GO customer today,” Aikins told CP24. “We have flooded Union station with our ambassadors to help you find your way and if you are unsure our staff will be telling you which stairs to go up and which platform your train is coming on.”

Aikins added that GO Transit customers will appreciate the renovations to the newly-reopened platforms, which now include new elevators and stairs.

Similar improvements are planned for platforms 20 and 21.
