A 25-year-old woman is dead and homicide detectives are investigating after a call to a North York residence Saturday afternoon.

Paramedics were called to Clancy Drive in the Don Mills Road and Finch Avenue area around 2:20 p.m. When they arrived they found a woman suffering from life-threatening injuries. They rushed her to a downtown hospital. But she died of her injuries a short time later.

It is not yet clear how the woman was injured.

One man is now in custody following the incident. Police said the man is the one who called 911. They described him as being cooperative. It is believed both he and the deceased woman lived in the basement of the house.

The home’s owners were not there at the time of the incident.
