Toronto police are looking for a suspect after a male was attacked with a knife at a youth shelter in Scarborough early Tuesday morning.

Police said the victim suffered slash wounds to the forehead, right arm and hands, and possibly a puncture wound to the abdomen.

He suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the attack, which occurred at Second Base Youth Shelter on Kennedy Road, south of Eglinton Avenue East, at about 1:30 a.m., police told CP24.

According to its website, the facility provides emergency food, clothing and shelter for homeless youth, in addition to support programs.

The victim is believed to be in his late teens, police said.

Officers are looking for a suspect who is known to police.
