The lawyer representing the man accused in connection with the disappearance of Tim Bosma says his client is a well-to-do entrepreneur with no history of criminal behaviour.

Deepak Paradkar told reporters Monday afternoon that his client Dellen Millard is “100 per cent not guilty” and will stand by his right to remain silent until prosecutors unveil the evidence against him.

“He is a very balanced young man, very humble, I had no idea who he was before this case,” Paradkar said. “We are concerned what the evidence is against him, we don’t know.”

Millard is the 27-year-old CEO of Millard Air, a company started by his grandfather, the lawyer confirmed. At 14, he was named the youngest person to ever pilot a helicopter solo.

“This is very out of character for him,” he said.

The suspect was taken into custody without giving police any trouble, the Paradkar said.

Paradkar also pointed to the fact that police are still searching for a second suspect and “maybe others.”

Meanwhile, police are concentrating their search for the missing Ancaster father in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, where forensic investigators hunted for clues at an airport hangar Monday.

Forensic investigators are looking for evidence at a Millard Air hangar at Region of Waterloo International Airport, as the search for Bosma nears its seventh day.

The hangar is owned by Millard's family.

In a news release, Hamilton police said they have obtained searched warrants as they scour the Kitchener-Waterloo region, a day after police went to a Kleinburg home and found a pickup truck that they believe is Bosma’s.

The truck was found Sunday in a large, covered trailer parked in the driveway at the home of the suspect’s mother. The trailer is owned by the suspect’s business, police said.

Paradkar said the suspect’s mother was “very shocked” and that she has “absolutely no knowledge in the matter.”

He said the woman allowed police to remove the tractor trailer from the property.

After receiving a tip about the trailer, York Regional Police officers went to the Kleinburg home and entered the trailer to look for Bosma, but he was not found.

As of Monday afternoon, investigators are in the process of obtaining a warrant to search the trailer and the pickup truck.

Until that search begins, police say they cannot officially confirm the truck is Bosma’s.

However, a police source told CP24 that investigators believe the truck is indeed his.

The 32-year-old man was last seen by his wife May 6 at 9:20 p.m. when he left his family’s home with two strangers who showed up to test drive his black 2007 Dodge Ram 3500.

The test drive was arranged after Bosma, the father of a two-year-old girl, listed the truck for sale in an online ad.

Last week, police focused their search in the Brantford area after they found Bosma’s cellphone.

Meanwhile, Millard, who remains in custody, is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday on charges of forcible confinement and theft over $5,000.

The second suspect in the case was previously described by police as white, in his early 20’s, and five-foot-nine or five-foot-10 with a small to medium build and dark hair.

The man was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with the hood over his head.

Police are asking anyone with information to call a dedicated tips line at 905-546-2100 or Crime Stoppers.

Investigators have received more than 500 tips so far, police said Monday.
