A key figure in Premier Kathleen Wynne’s successful bid for the Liberal leadership is ready to join John Tory’s campaign for mayor should the talk show host decide to throw his hat into the ring.

A source has confirmed to CP24 that Tom Allison will leave Queen’s Park to serve as Tory’s campaign manager if he decides to run in October’s municipal election.

Allison currently serves as Wynne’s deputy chief of staff, but was instrumental in her ascension to the premier’s office as her campaign manager during the Liberal leadership race.

Allison is the second high-profile strategist to be linked to Tory after a source confirmed to CP24 earlier this week that Nick Kouvalis, who was Rob Ford’s campaign manager in 2010, would also join any Tory campaign.
