HAPPY VALLEY-GOOSE BAY, N.L. - A passenger jet on an overseas flight was diverted to Labrador on Sunday when a passenger became ill.

Air Canada Flight 869 was on its way to Toronto from London.

When the flight crew learned that a passenger had gone in to diabetic shock, the jet changed course and landed in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

The RCMP say a 37-year-old man from Toronto was taken hospital, where he was kept overnight for observation.
