A 28-year-old man has been arrested on a charge of impaired driving causing death after a fatal collision on the QEW Tuesday morning, the Ontario Provincial Police said.
The collision, involving two vehicles, occurred near Fifty Road in Stoney Creek around 5:30 a.m. It left one person dead and another in serious condition, police said.
Police said that witnesses had seen the accused driving toward Toronto in the Niagara-bound lanes prior to the collision.
The identity of the deceased is not yet known.
The Niagara-bound lanes of the QEW were closed till around 9:45 a.m. while police investigated.
