A Toronto man rushed to hospital with a gunshot wound early Wednesday morning has died in hospital, Toronto police say.

The victim was discovered after police responded to a call for a shooting on Scarlettwood Court, in the Scarlett Road and Lawrence Avenue West area, shortly before 2 a.m.

He was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died late Wednesday afternoon.

In a release issued Thursday afternoon, police identified the victim as 31-year-old Colin Mohamed.

A post-mortem examination was scheduled for today.
