Toronto police say they have arrested a 46-year-old man in relation to two bank robberies that took place in and around the Rexdale area of Etobicoke back in April.

On April 19, police say a man went to a bank at the Woodbine Centre, located at 500 Rexdale Boulevard.

The man allegedly produced a hold-up note demanding money and indicated he had a gun.

He fled the scene with an unknown amount of money. Police say the man first arrived to the scene on a mountain bike.

On April 25, a man entered a bank in the area of Queens Plate Drive and Highway 27.

Investigators allege he produced a holdup note demanding money and indicated he was armed with a gun.

He then fled the scene with an unknown amount of cash.

On Monday, police arrested a suspect identified as Ivan Halar of Toronto.

He is charged with two counts of robbery and one count of disguise with intent.

He is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on June 6 at 10 a.m.
