A man is in custody after a stabbing in the city’s west end sent another man to hospital with critical injuries Sunday night.

The stabbing took place at a bar near Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue around 10 p.m. Police said two men were involved in a dispute and that one of the men then left and returned with a knife.

One of the men was then was stabbed in the neck, police said.

Paramedics rushed him to hospital with life-threatening injuries following the stabbing.

Police said Monday morning that the victim has undergone surgery and is expected to recover.

The suspect was tracked down at his residence nearby and arrested Monday.

Christopher Goodfellow of Toronto, 35, has been charged with attempted murder and weapons dangerous. He was scheduled to make a court appear in court Monday morning.
