Toronto police say a 28-year-old Toronto man is in custody after a 14-year-old girl was sexually assaulted while studying in the library at Fairview Mall on Monday afternoon.

Police were called to the Toronto Public Library at Fairview Mall, at Don Mills Road and Fairview Mall Drive, at 3:06 p.m. on Monday

Investigators say a girl was studying inside the library when a man sat down next to her and began talking to her.

The girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by the man.

Police say the girl then left the library and the suspect followed her out.

The girl later returned to the library to contact police.

Investigators released surveillance camera images of the suspect on Tuesday.

On Thursday, police said a suspect identified as Darren Michael Slosel was arrested.

He has been charged with one count of sexual assault, one count of sexual interference and one count of criminal harassment.

He appeared in court at 1000 Finch Ave. W. on Friday morning.

Police say they are concerned there may be other victims who have not yet come forward.
