Peel Regional Police have arrested a Toronto man and charged him with attempted murder in connection with the shooting of another man in Brampton back in April.

On April 20 at 10:35 p.m., a 22-year-old was shot outside a home on Fieldview Drive. The victim was transported to a Toronto trauma unit with serious injuries.

Investigators believe the shooting was somehow connected to the November 2014 murder of 22-year-old Collins Kwarteng of Brampton. Kwarteng was shot dead on Yellow Avens Boulevard on November 10. No charges have been laid in connection with his murder.

Twenty-two-year-old Jermaine Prempeh, also known as Stevie Bucks, was arrested Thursday and charged with attempted murder and three counts of trafficking firearms. He is scheduled to appear in a Brampton court on Friday.

Anyone with information about what led up to these incidents is asked to call police at 905-453-2121, ext. 3205.
