Durham Regional Police say a 53-year-old man has died in hospital after a collision in Oshawa on Tuesday afternoon.
It happened near Conlin Road near Founders Drive shortly before 4:30 p.m.
Police say a 71-year-old woman who was driving a Buick Lucerne was travelling eastbound on Conlin Road when she was rear-ended by a 53-year-old man driving a Mitsubishi SUV.
After striking the woman in the Buick, the Mitsubishi continued to push the vehicle for a distance down the road before hitting a tree.
The driver of the Mitsubishi was rushed to hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Police say they are working to determine if he suffered a medical episode at the time of the collision.
