TORONTO -- A Toronto man is facing 11 firearms-related charges in connection with a shooting incident in the city more than a year ago.

Police say five shots were fired in an area just east of downtown (Regent Park) on Jan. 5, 2012, leaving a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg.

It's alleged that a Glock .40-calibre handgun seized a month later by officers in an unrelated investigation is the same one used in the January 2012 shooting.

The suspect faces charges including attempted murder while using a firearm, aggravated assault, robbery while armed with a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.

Editor's Note: Court documents provided to CP24.com show that the charges against the suspect were withdrawn.
