A man in his 20s is dead after a stabbing in Pickering early Thursday morning and police are now searching for a grey Honda Civic that was seen fleeing the scene.

The stabbing occurred outside a home on Glenanna Road near Huntsmill Drive at around 2:35 a.m.

The victim was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, however he was pronounced dead some time later.

No arrests have been made and no suspect descriptions have been released.

“We are looking for witnesses right now and forensics and homicide are heading to the scene,” Det. Sgt. Gerry Moote told CP24 at the scene early Thursday morning.

Police are currently canvassing the area in the hopes that a homeowner in the area may have surveillance camera footage.

Sgt. Bill Calder said police are looking for a silver Honda Civic, from years 2002-2006, that fled north from the scene of the stabbing with two males inside.

Officers are also interviewing family members of the victim and other people who live in the neighbourhood.
