A man was rushed to hospital in critical condition after being found on the platform at Bloor-Yonge Station Sunday afternoon.
The incident happened at the busy transit hub around 4 p.m.
Police said the man was found unconscious on the eastbound platform for Line 2.
According to reports from the scene, the man was pushed into the side of a train as it was pulling away from the station, a TTC spokesperson said.
Police said the man appears to have been pushed following some sort of altercation and suffered head injuries.
One person was taken into custody in connection with the incident, police said.
Police are reviewing surveillance footage to determine exactly what happened and are appealing to any witnesses to come forward.
Subway service was not interrupted by the incident.
