A 24-year-old man that was shot in the chest in a Brampton parking lot late Friday night has been pronounced dead, police confirm.

The shooting happened at a parking lot on Lisa Street, in the Dixie Road and Queen Street area, at around 9 p.m.

The victim was without vital signs at the scene but was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified by police as Kadeem Bascombe of Mississauga.

No descriptions of possible suspects have been released at this point.

According to Const. George Tudos, homicide detectives are currently interviewing witnesses as part of the ongoing investigation. Police are also urging anyone else who was in the Dixie Road and Queen Street area at the time of the shooting to contact them.
