Toronto police have released a photograph of a suspect wanted for attempted murder after shots were fired in Danforth Village over the weekend.

According to police, a man went to an address in the Main Street and Danforth Avenue area at around 4:45 p.m. on July 24 where he confronted a 29-year-old man who was leaving a residence.

The man pointed the gun directly at the other, fired three shots and then fled on foot, police said.

The man who was targeted was not hit and sustained just minor scrapes and scratches from trying to get away.

Both men are tenants at a rooming house and had some sort of dispute beforehand, police said.

The suspect, identified as 66-year-old Astrit Shkurta of Toronto, is now wanted for attempted murder, police said.

He is described as having curly white hair and a medium build, with two gold teeth. He was wearing a red or orange T-shirt or vest and dark pants at the time of the shooting.

Anyone with information about the case is being asked to contact police at 416-808-5400 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
