The wife of a missing Hamilton man broke down in tears Thursday afternoon as she pleaded with whoever took her husband to return him to his family.

Timothy Bosma went missing after he reportedly met up with two men believed to be from Toronto about a pickup truck for sale. The duo met Bosma at his Ancaster home and the three went for a test drive Monday night. The 32-year-old man hasn’t been seen or heard from since. The vehicle also remains missing.

“I beg whoever has my husband to let him go, please call the police anonymously and let them know where he is,” Sharlene Bosma said through her tears during a news conference. “It’s just a truck. You don’t need him but I do and our daughter needs her daddy back so please, please let him come home.”

Homicide investigators are now involved in the case as police believe the man may have met with foul play.

Bosma did have his cellphone with him but the phone was turned off shortly after he left for the test drive at around 9:20 p.m.

Police say Bosma posted his truck for sale on AutoTrader and Kijiji where he also listed his phone number.

His wife was able to give police a description of the two men who came to the door.

The first suspect is described as white, about six-foot-one and between 170 and 180 pounds. He had medium short brown hair and was wearing an orange shirt with long sleeves, blue jeans and sneakers. The second man is described as white with a medium build. He is around five-foot-nine with dark hair. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt that was pulled over his head. Police say both men could be in their mid-twenties.

The missing pickup is described as a 2007 black Dodge Ram 3500 with license plate 7267ZW.

Sharlene Bosma told reporters Thursday that the ordeal has been a nightmare for her and her family.

“This does not feel like real life,” she said. “This only happens on TV and the movies.”

She went on to talk about the bond between her husband and their young daughter, saying that Bosma’s only concern would likely just be the well-being of their child.

“We hope and we pray that today is the last day of this nightmare,” she said. “One of the kids the other day said Uncle Timmy has been stolen and I cannot describe it better than that. Tim has been stolen from us.”
