Peel Regional Police have found a car belonging to a 32-year-old Brampton man gunned down in Mississauga late Thursday night.
Police said Dwayne Thompson was killed outside an apartment building on Darcel Avenue, near Goreway Drive and Derry Road East, in Malton at about 10:40 p.m.
Police announced Friday evening that the grey 2007 Nissan Altima had been found in the area of Derry Road East and Rexwood Road in Mississauga.
Officers were called to the residential complex when people reported the sound of gunshots. Police searched the grounds and found Thompson in a parking lot behind the building.
Police spokeswoman Const. Fiona Thivierge told CP24 the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are looking for three black males, who were in a white vehicle, to find out if they were involved or if they know anything about the incident, Thivierge said.
