Two Mississauga men have been charged in connection with five bank robberies in the Greater Toronto Area in recent weeks.

The charges relate to robberies at two west-end Toronto banks, two in Peel Region, and one in Halton Region between Dec. 21, 2015 and Feb. 4, 2016.

According to police, during the robberies, one man would enter the branch armed with a knife and wearing a disguise. After demanding money from a teller, he would vault the service counter.

A vehicle driven by a second man would be waiting outside.

On Wednesday, two men were arrested in connection with the multi-jurisdictional investigation.

Twenty-year-old John Robert Kennedy faces charges including four counts of robbery, armed robbery, and possession of property obtained by crime.

James Neff, 34, is charged with five counts of robbery.

Both were scheduled to appear in court this morning.
