Firefighters have knocked down one-alarm fire at a house southeast of The Junction.

Crews were called to the home on Abbott Avenue, in the Bloor and Keele streets area, shortly after 5 p.m.

According to firefighters, the rear of the home was completely engulfed in flames at one point. The main-level floor of the home was also compromised forcing firefighters out of the building.

The fire was knocked down about 40 minutes later.

No injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
