A 19-year-old man is dead and a 20-year-old is in hospital with non-life threatening injuries after an overnight stabbing in Mississauga, Peel Regional Police confirm.
It happened outside a residence on Rainbow Crescent near Erin Mills Parkway and Burnhamthorpe Road West at around 2 a.m.
The deceased party was rushed to hospital without vital signs and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival while the other victim was taken to a local hospital.
According to Const. George Tudos, some sort of gathering was taking place in the residence at the time and about 100 people were in the immediate area as a result.
“When we got on scene there were numerous people outside and we had to utilize a transit bus just to help bring some of these witnesses to a local police station where they can be interviewed by our investigators,” Tudos told CP24.
Tudos added that the stabing took place on a "quiet neighbourhood" where "this type of thing does not happen."
No arrests have been made.
