A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after he was stabbed at a Brampton school Tuesday morning.

According to Peel police, a fight broke out between two people inside St. Roch Catholic Secondary School at around 11:30 a.m. and several others then jumped in.

Police say the victim was stabbed during the ensuing melee.

Two teenaged boys were taken into custody in connection with the incident at the scene.

A lockdown was in effect as police swept the school for an outstanding third suspect Tuesday afternoon, but it was lifted at around 2:30 p.m. after a room by room search turned up nothing.

The 16-year-old boy was arrested shortly after 5:30 p.m., police confirmed.

Two of the teens face assault-related charges, while the third is facing a weapons-related charge, police said.
