The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal is investigating after a woman was killed in an apartment fire in Owen Sound this morning.
Members of the Owen Sound Fire Department were called to a west side apartment building at around 3 a.m. for a reported fire.
Police say the fire was contained to one unit in the building but heavy smoke had filled the entire 8th floor and one woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Criminal Investigation Branch of the Owen Sound Police Service is assisting with the investigation.
