An Amber Alert issued by Ontario Provincial Police for an Orillia boy earlier has been cancelled after the boy was found safe.

In a news release Sunday evening, OPP said they received a call shortly before 6 p.m. about an incident at the intersection of West Street South and Bond Street in Orillia.

A caller told police that a man had an interaction with a male child before the boy was “removed” in a sport utility vehicle.

Police issued an Amber Alert for the boy at around 10 p.m.

Shortly before 11 p.m., police said the boy had been found safe and the alert was cancelled.
