Three men had to be taken to hospital in two unrelated stabbings early Wednesday morning - one in downtown Toronto and the other in Scarborough.

The first incident occurred around 4 a.m. on College Street near Augusta Avenue. The 19-year-old victim was stabbed in the neck and taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to Toronto Paramedic Services.

Emilio Land, 22, of no fixed address, and Botoch Sagutch, 22, of no fixed address, have been charged with a number of offences, including attempted murder, robbery and assault with a weapon.

The second incident took place about an hour later on Firvalley Court near Warden and Danforth avenues.

Toronto police said a man and a woman went to another man’s apartment. The men got into an argument. One hit the other with a bottle and got stabbed in turn, police said. Their injuries were minor.

It is not known what the men were arguing about. Police said they are not being cooperative and that the woman only knew it wasn't about her.

Police are investigating both stabbings and speaking to witnesses.
