A man was killed as he got out of a taxi van in Mississauga early Friday morning.
The man had just stepped out of the vehicle at Winston Churchill Boulevard and Castlebridge Drive when a truck drove by and struck him.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Peel EMS.
The taxi van was also damaged as a result of the collision.
Police say it appears the driver of the truck didn’t stop after the collision occurred but eventually returned to the crash site.
The driver was arrested for failing to remain at the scene.
