Police are appealing for information after a man knocked a woman to the ground and sexually assaulted her in Scarborough last Friday night.

According to police, the man approached the woman from behind in the area of Brimley Road and Ellesmere Road at around 10:45 p.m. and proceeded to knock her to the ground and sexually assault her.

The woman then managed to escape and the man fled on foot, police say.

The man is describe as brown, in his late 20s to early 30s, about five-foot-eight with a large build and black or brown short hair. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, dark jeans and running shoes.
