Toronto Police say they have arrested a 29-year-old male suspect after six separate fires were deliberately set in the Wexford neighbourhood of Scarborough on Saturday night.
Investigators said a landlord in the area of Victoria Park Avenue and Craigton Drive reported seeing a suspect lighting garbage bins on fire.
The suspect was seen hopping fences and several of the fires spread to nearby grassy areas.
Toronto firefighters said all six fires were extinguished quickly without incident.
No one was injured by the fires.
Firefighters ask Toronto residents to secure their trash so it cannot easily be accessed by an arsonist.
