A 29-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl at a Bowmanville Walmart last month has turned himself into authorities after his image was released by police.
The suspect approached the victim from behind while she shopped with her family at a Walmart on Highway 2 on the afternoon of May 30.
Police say the suspect then inappropriately touched the victim before fleeing the store on foot.
Derek St. Cyr, of Bowmanville, turned himself into police on Wednesday; one day after police circulated a surveillance camera image of a suspect in the assault.
St. Cyr is charged with one count of sexual assault.
