ALMONTE, Ont. - Provincial police have released more information about an incident that left two people dead and sent a third to hospital in Almonte, Ont.

The incident happened Thursday in the community about 50 kilometres west of Ottawa.

The two people who died have been identified as 33-year-old Travis Porteous and Mississippi Mills town councillor Bernard Cameron, who was 65.

The mayor of Mississippi Mills, Shaun McLaughlin, said Cameron died in a violent incident.

Cameron's daughter, 28-year-old Sarah Cameron, was taken to hospital where she remains in stable condition.

A post-mortem was completed, but police say they aren't releasing the causes of death.
