Toronto police have identified a man found dead at an Etobicoke highrise building on Monday morning.

Officers responded to the building on Islington Avenue, north of Dixon Road, for a 911 call shortly before 9 a.m.

Upon arrival, police found a man suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“After further investigation, homicide detectives have taken carriage of the investigation,” a media release from police issued Monday night said.

Police identified the victim as 26-year-old Toronto resident Faysal Mohamed Hees on Tuesday night.

“The post-mortem examination determined the cause of death as a gunshot wound,” police said.

This is Toronto’s 68th homicide of 2016.
