Toronto police say they have formally charged a third man in connection with the death of a 25-year-old man outside a midtown restaurant back in December.

Zaher "Zack" Noureddine died following a violent assault on Yonge Street, south of Eglinton Avenue, in the early hours of Dec. 30.

Police initially said that Noureddine got into some sort of fight; however they later determined that he was the victim of a violent street robbery and issued a public appeal for information about three men that were seen leaving the scene in a light-coloured four-door sedan.

Last week police arrested William Lordhu Cummins, 29, and Patrick Smith, 26, both of Toronto, and charged them both with second-degree murder and robbery. At the time, police said a third person already in their custody would also be charged in connection with the murder.

On Wednesday, 31-year-old Matthew Moreira, of Toronto, was charged with second-degree murder and robbery.

He appeared in court yesterday morning.
