Police are investigating after a man was shot while inside a vehicle in North York Wednesday night.

According to Toronto police Det. David Zajac, the 23-year-old victim was shot while inside a car on Sheppard Avenue, east of Senlac Road. After being shot, he drove the vehicle to the Johnston Avenue and Botham Road area where he was located shortly after 9 p.m.

The victim sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, paramedics said. Police said he was shot in the arm.

The circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately clear.

Police are currently searching for a suspect vehicle described as a dark sedan in connection with the incident.
