PELHAM, Ont. -- Police are investigating after tires broke free from a pickup truck, killing the 62-year-old driver of a nearby car in Pelham, Ont.
Investigators say a GMC Sierra was travelling westbound on Highway 20 when the driver's side rear tires flew off the truck.
They say three eastbound cars were nearby. The first was struck by debris from the wheel, and the second was struck by a tire.
The third car was also struck by a tire, and its driver was fatally injured. His name is not being released.
A passenger in the third car was seriously injured, and was airlifted to hospital for treatment.
The Coroner's office and police are investigating the incident, and there's no word on charges.
