A sexual predator may be targeting woman in Kensington Market, police say.

Officers are investigating the possibility that one suspect may be responsible for three separate sexual assaults that occurred in the neighbourhood in recent weeks, Const. Wendy Drummond told CP24.

In all three attacks, woman were approached by a male suspect in the Kensington Market neighbourhood and assaulted.

In two of the incidents the woman were able to fight off their attacker.

“We are definitely considering a connection as there are some real similarities,” Drummond said. “All the victims are in their early 20s, the attacks happened early in the morning in roughly the same area and all the women were physically grabbed, pushed up against the wall, pushed to the ground and sexually assaulted.”

Drummond said police are looking for a black male suspect in his early 20s in connection with the attacks.

She said it is important that women are careful when travelling through the city.

“The best advice we can give is to remain vigilant,” she said. “If something is telling you something is not right, if you feel somebody is watching you that is usually a very good indication. Listen to that and put yourself in a place of safety.”
