Toronto police are thanking the public for their help identifying a man found dead in Scarborough Sunday.

Officers were called to the Tineta Crescent and Invergordon Avenue area shortly before 1 p.m.

According to police, a passerby discovered the body at the base of a bridge on Invergordon Avenue, next to the creek.

The man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, had no identification on him.

Police provided a description of the man and the clothing he was wearing in a release issued Tuesday afternoon.

In an update a few hours later, police confirmed that the man had been identified. His name and age were not provided.
