Toronto police have arrested a suspect in connection with a historic sexual assault investigation.

Police say that between January 1987 and December 1997, a young boy was sexually assaulted on several occasions in Toronto.

On Monday, a suspect was arrested in connection with the case.

The suspect, identified by police as 49-year-old Maurice Fairweather, is charged with two counts of sexual assault, sexual exploitation, sexual interference and gross indecency.

Police say Fairweather has been a youth volunteer and worked at a group home for teenagers.

Police believe there may be more victims.
