Durham Regional Police say two brothers have been arrested after they allegedly sprayed armoured truck guards with bear spray during a failed robbery in Ajax.
According to police, the two suspects ambushed the guards when they were making a delivery at an Ajax bank. Police say after spraying the guards, the pair fled empty-handed.
The guards suffered minor injuries during the incident.
On Monday, investigators say search warrants were executed at two Toronto-area addresses and one suspect was arrested without incident. The second suspect, police say, was later arrested at a separate location in Toronto.
Oluwasheun Hastings, 29, and Kunle Banjoko, 25, have been charged with robbery with a weapon, disguise with intent, and possession of a weapon to commit an offence.
