Homicide investigators say they believe that a man who was gunned down in a King West parking garage in the middle of the day Sunday was targeted.

Shots rang out on the first level of the underground garage near Crawford Street at around 12:30 p.m.

The call initially came to police as a motorcycle injury as the man was found beside a motorcycle. However emergency responders arrived at the scene to find him suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

First responders performed CPR, but the man was eventually declared dead at the scene.

Police identified the victim Monday as John Ignagni, 33, of Toronto. Police told CP24 that Ignagni was known to police.

Investigators also removed two vehicles from the garage Monday that are believed to be connected to the investigation. They include a black BMW 1200 RR motorcycle and a black Porsche with bullet holes in the door.

Neighbours told CP24 that the garage is shared by people who live in an apartment building and a housing complex above.

No arrests have been made so far, but police say they are looking for a person of interest who was seen leaving the area on a bicycle. He is described as a white man who was wearing a dark bicycle helmet. No further description was available.

A post-mortem exam is expected to be conducted later today.
