A man was slashed with a knife during the course of a robbery outside a Scarborough bank Wednesday afternoon and police are now on the hunt for a suspect.

According to police, the 40-year-old man was approached by a suspect armed with a kitchen knife while outside a bank near Bimbrok Road and Eglinton Avenue at around 12:20 p.m.

Police say the man was then robbed and slashed across his fingers.

The suspect fled the scene and was last spotted behind Knob Hill Plaza, according to police.

Nearby Walter Perry Junior Public School and Glen Ravine Junior Public School had been placed under hold-and-secure orders as police searched for a suspect, however a spokesperson for the Toronto District School Board says those orders are being lifted.
