Police in York Region are looking for a 26-year-old man who hasn’t been seen since Sunday.

Jonathan Adams was last heard from on June 28 at around 2 p.m. and police say it is out of character for him to not be in touch with family or friends.

Adams’ car was found in the Bathurst Street and Mulock Drive area in Newmarket yesterday, but police have not been able to locate him.

His family and police say they are concerned for his safety.

Officers have set up a command post and are searching the woods near the spot where the car was found. A heavy police presence is expected in the area as the search continues.

Police say they do not suspect foul play is involved in Adams’ disappearance.

Adams is described as a 26-year-old man who stands about five-foot-eleven with a medium build. He has light brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing a navy blue shirt.

Police have also released a photo of Adams and are asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact York Regional Police #1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7141 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-tips.
