Peel police are searching for four suspects after a group of armed men forced their way into a home and made off with a number of items in a violent overnight robbery in Brampton.

The men, one of them armed with a handgun, forced their way into the home on Nuttall Street at around 12:30 a.m. while a number of residents were at home, police said.

The men took a number of items and then fled. A male resident of the home was assaulted during the robbery and had to be taken to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspects are described as four men in their early 20s, one of them white and three of them black. They were wearing hoodies with bandanas covering their faces.
