A 10-year-old boy last seen in Rexdale this morning has been located, Toronto police have confirmed.

Police said the boy left his school in the Islington Avenue and Rexdale Boulevard area while classes were still in session at around 11:15 a.m.

Officers had been searching the neighbourhood around the school as well as areas that he is known to frequent. A command post was not set up.

Police confirmed that the child had beeen located shortly after 8 p.m.

“Generally what we do is start from the last area where (the person) was seen, and then we work out from there,” Toronto police Const. Craig Brister said Tuesday evening before the boy was found.
