Toronto police are searching for a 23-year-old suspect after a woman was attacked and robbed as she was leaving her apartment in the Danforth Village area of East York last Friday.

At 3:20 p.m. on June 24, police said a woman in her 20s was leaving her apartment in the Victoria Park and Danforth avenues area when she was confronted by a man who demanded to enter her home.

Police said she refused but the suspect allegedly grabbed her keys and forced his way in.

He allegedly searched the apartment for valuables.

When the victim threatened to call the police, the suspect allegedly grabbed her and smashed her head against a wall, and later snatched a necklace from around her neck.

The suspect then fled the scene.

Police have identified the suspect as 23-year-old Jacob McNeil, of Toronto.

He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
