Toronto police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a 15-year-old boy was shot and seriously injured in the Jane Street and Finch Avenue area Sunday night.

Security camera footage obtained by police shows several witnesses were present at the time of the shooting, police said in a news release Wednesday.

The shooting took place at a shopping plaza at Yorkwoods Gate and Jane Street just before 10 p.m. Sunday.

Police say the 15-year-old victim was standing in the plaza’s parking lot when he was approached by a vehicle with two men in it. The men shot the boy several times and then fled the scene, police say.

The teen was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police are now urging the witnesses to get in touch with investigators.
